About the Park
The newest acquisition to the County Park System, Island View provides 1,300 feet of shoreline on the Mississippi River. Here visitors can view wildlife, fish or put in a canoe or other small watercraft. Nearly 2 miles of mowed trails offer visitors peaceful surroundings of restored native prairie, oak forest edges and an open water wetland.
In 2011, a master plan was completed for the park through a Statewide Health Improvement Program grant. The master plan is scheduled for review and update in 2020.
