[ARCHIVED] Becker Woman Pleads Guilty to Possessing Carfentanil With Intent to Sell

According to the defendant's guilty plea and documents filed in court, Officers with the Sherburne County Drug Task Force had been investigating the defendant's residence for approximately one year. Multiple opioid overdoses had occurred in the area of the defendant's residence since May of 2016. The investigation by law enforcement revealed that another individual had been selling fentanyl in nasal spray bottles from that residence.

Members of the Drug Task Force searched the defendant's residence on October 26, 2017, after reviewing text-message communication between the defendant and Tyler Todd Plaster, 26. Plaster had been giving Miller instructions on how to mix carfentanil with water and prices for sales of the mixture. During the search, law enforcement located a one-cup measure containing a liquid and a spray bottle containing a liquid. The liquids were later analyzed by the Midwest Regional Forensic Laboratory. That analysis revealed that the liquid contained carfentanil and weighed 80.747 grams. Carfentanil is a Schedule II opiate, and is a narcotic drug under Minnesota law.

This case was the result of an investigation conducted by the Sherburne County Drug Task Force.

Assistant Sherburne County Attorney Elisabeth Spilde is prosecuting the case.
