Effective June 8, 2020 there will be a national Centralized Call Center for Community Care Emergency Treatment Notifications. To notify the VA if a Veteran is being treated in a community emergency room or admitted to a community hospital for emergency reasons, call 844-724-7842. Notifying the VA within 72 hours that you are being treated in a community emergency room is still required but it will be made through the national Centralized Call Center, not your local VA (as was done in the past).
Until July, the Centralized Call Center for Emergency Notifications will operate daily from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. CT. If calling from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. CT, call the OGJVAMC Administrative Officer of the Day (AOD) at 906-774-3300 (toll free 800-215-8262), extension 32636. In July, the call center will be staffed 24/7.
