2022 Election Updates

Absentee ballots for the General November 8th Election will be available September 23- November 7, 2022.  

Applications already received by us before the start of the absentee period will have their ballots sent out as soon as we can.  The earliest day they can be sent out is September 23rd.  After the start of the absentee period ballots will be mailed as soon as received.   Please apply as early as possible to ensure prompt delivery.  


You can track your ballot if you applied online,   If you applied during the Primary and requested for your General ballot as well to be absentee then your ballot  will be automatically mailed to you and you do not need to request again.  

Mail the ballot and forms back right away after you finish. Your returned ballot must be postmarked on or before 3pm on Election Day (November 8th, 2022). You may also drop off your ballot envelope in person to our office.

Business hours are Monday through Friday 8-4:30 PM.

Returning your ballot in person

You can also return your ballot in person no later than 3 p.m. on Election Day to the election office that sent your ballot. You can drop off ballots for up to three other voters. You will need to show  identification with name and signature when returning a ballot for someone else. You may not drop your ballot off at your polling place on election day.

Returned ballots must be postmarked by Election Day. (do not deliver to the polling location)

Sherburne County Government Center/Auditor/Treasurer Department

The Sherburne County Elections Department will be an absentee voting location for all of Sherburne County.

 The address is 13880 Business Center Dr NW, Elk River.

  Business hours are Monday through Friday 8-4:30 PM.

Absentee Voting will also be available on Saturday, November 5th, 2022 10am -3pm


Elk River City Hall

The City of Elk River will be an absentee voting location for the 2022 Primary and General Elections.  Residents who reside in the City of Elk River will be able to apply for and vote an absentee ballot during business hours. City Hall is located at 13065 Orono Parkway, Elk River.  The phone number is 763-635-1000.                                                                                     Business hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

Stearns County Administration Center

Absentee Voting location designation for Ward 2 Precincts 5, 6 and 7 located within Sherburne County in St. Cloud, MN will be at 

  St. Cloud City Hall, 1201 7th St S, St. Cloud, MN 56303. Hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday and Saturday, August 6, 2022 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
