Healthy School Foods


All healthy eating initiatives focus on the following four goals:

  1. Increasing access to fruits and vegetables
  2. Decreasing access to foods high in sodium
  3. Saturated fat
  4. Added sugars


This does not include the school lunch program. Strategies for SHIP 4 include:

  • Healthy Snacks and Classroom Celebrations: Working with schools to offer healthy snacks and foods at celebrations and fundraisers
  • School Gardens
  • School Health Councils
  • School Policies
