SCORE is a grant which provides money to be spent solely for the development and implementation of programs designed to fulfill one or more of the following:
- Creating and support markets for recycled products
- Electronic waste recycling program
- Inform and educate all sectors of the public about proper solid waste management procedures
- Organic recycling in schools, restaurants, and municipalities
- Paper reduction in schools
- Process mixed municipal solid waste generated in the county at a resource recovery facility located in the State of Minnesota
- Promote business and school recycling
- Provide educational, technical, and financial assistance for litter prevention
- Provide technical assistance to public and private entities to ensure proper solid waste management
- Recycle the maximum amount of solid waste technically feasible
- Reduce the amount of solid waste generated
- Remove problem materials from the solid waste stream and develop proper disposal options for them
