SCORE is a grant which provides money to be spent solely for the development and implementation of programs designed to fulfill one or more of the following:

  • Creating and support markets for recycled products
  • Electronic waste recycling program
  • Inform and educate all sectors of the public about proper solid waste management procedures
  • Organic recycling in schools, restaurants, and municipalities
  • Paper reduction in schools
  • Process mixed municipal solid waste generated in the county at a resource recovery facility located in the State of Minnesota
  • Promote business and school recycling
  • Provide educational, technical, and financial assistance for litter prevention
  • Provide technical assistance to public and private entities to ensure proper solid waste management
  • Recycle the maximum amount of solid waste technically feasible
  • Reduce the amount of solid waste generated
  • Remove problem materials from the solid waste stream and develop proper disposal options for them
