Refugee Health

Sherburne County Public Health Nurses work with private health care providers to offer refugees a comprehensive screening examination and any follow-up / referral as needed. Refugee health assessments help diagnose and treat health problems. Local health departments primarily focus on providing education and connecting families / individuals with community resources and coordinating care with medical providers in the area.

The Refugee Health Program is primarily managed by the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) which partners with local health departments and medical providers to ensure quality care and follow up. For information on the many programs and services that MDH provides please view the following links.
