The Sherburne County Sheriff's Office has been working with the Tri-County Crime Stoppers since 1981. Crime Stoppers is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that allows the public the resource to anonymously report information about a crime. The Tri-County Crime Stoppers serves the Minnesota counties of Stearns, Benton, and Sherburne. These counties comprise 2,121 square miles of central Minnesota.
Sherburne County's partnership allows them to use Crime Stoppers to publicize information about unsolved crimes. When Crime Stoppers receives a tip, the information is forwarded to the appropriate agency for further investigation. Crime Stoppers then offers a reward, of up to $1,000, for information leading to the arrest and formal charging of a suspect, when an arrest and formal charges are filed due to the tip information. For more information, visit the Crime Stoppers website.
