Sherburne County Public Health is committed to the health and well-being of families in our county. Our Personal Nurses visit with families during pregnancy and the early years of parenting.
The Importance of Home Visiting
Pregnancy and a new baby can bring a lot of questions. We are here to help! Our visits focus on supporting parents to have healthy pregnancies and positive birth experiences. After baby is born, our visits help promote your child’s health, including providing newborn weight checks, breastfeeding and infant feeding support, parenting and safety tips, and education on how your child is growing, learning, and developing. These services are free of charge and visit times and locations are flexible.
If you are interested in learning more about our Family Home Visiting services, there are multiple ways to get started. Call us at (763) 276-0441, ask your healthcare provider to refer you, or (if you go to WIC) ask your WIC staff to refer you. For more information, visit First Steps Central MN. Sherburne County has multiple home visiting programs and we are happy to answer questions or help determine which program will fit your family’s needs best.
