Comprehensive Land Use

Sherburne County is in the process of updating its Comprehensive Land Use Plan. For additional information on the Comprehensive Land Use Plan, please visit the Project's Website Updating Comprehensive Land Use Plan

On September 6, 2011, the County Board of Commissioners of Sherburne County rescinded the 2004 Comprehensive Plan, and adopted the 2010-2030 Comprehensive Land Use Plan by ordinance, as the official control adopted under the provisions of MN Statutes 394.21 to 394.37.

The purpose of the Comprehensive Plan is to guide future land use through the year 2030 in areas within the County's zoning authority. The Comprehensive Plan is the legal basis for establishing Zoning and Subdivision ordinances which regulate current land use. Additionally, the intent of this Comprehensive Plan is to integrate when applicable, township planning efforts in the County's plan that have occurred since it was last updated in 2004.
