Jail Fees

Pay For Stay / Sentenced Medicals

Minnesota Statutes 2000, section 641.12, subdivision 3 allows the County to charge a fee to an offender convicted of a crime for:

  • Board
  • Clothing
  • Dental
  • Medical
  • Room
  • Other Correctional Services

The Sherburne County Jail charges $35 per day for Pay for Stay. Medical service incurred by offender convicted of a crime will be charged back those fees.

Adult Work Crew Fees

Individuals sentenced to the Adult Work Crew shall pay a fee.

  • In-Person: cash, check or credit card during normal business hours

The total inmate population for 2016 was 5,762 - of which 4,767 were male and 995 were female. The total number of days confined were 211,755.73. Average daily population was 578.57.

Jail Security

The jail security system was updated in 2016 upgrading cameras and software. The security system is an integrated computer system that integrates all of the following within the jail:

  • Cameras
  • Doors
  • Intercoms
  • Phones
  • Utilities

The system monitored 24 hours a day by jail staff.

Correctional Emergency Response Team (CERT)

Trained in special weapons and tactics to handle minor and major disturbances.

Medical Unit

The Sherburne County Jail contracts with MEnD medical to meet the inmate medical needs.

K-9 Team

The jail has a K-9 Officer and narcotics detection dog.

Meeko K9

Classification Team

The Classification Team consists of one Sergeant and four Corrections Officers used to classify the inmate population and to identify threat groups inside the jail.

Training Department

The Training Department consists of 1 training Sergeant and 12 FTOs.
