The Sherburne County WIC Community Garden is a family-friendly space that was established in 2020. Part of WIC's mission is to help connect families with healthy foods. Growing fresh produce is a hands-on way to bring nutritious foods to our community and help families learn about what we eat!
Due to the pandemic, we were unable to host education at the garden site, or hands on harvesting experience for kids. However, we were successful with donating over 140lbs to the local food shelf! Next season we look forward to having a more hands-on garden experience for our WIC participants.
A special thank you to everyone who helped make this garden possible; our Master Gardener: Renay Leone, Boy Scout: Luke Rumreich, Sherburne County Administration, WIC Supervisor and Staff, and Sherburne County Maintenance for their dedication toward planning and designing our garden space!
