Solid Waste Management Ordinance (Ordinance No. 180)
The Sherburne County Solid Waste Management Ordinance regulates facilities that accept, manage, and dispose of solid wastes of every type through licensing, inspections, and enforcement. Sherburne County works closely with the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) on regulation of solid waste facilities.
The Ordinance also regulates solid waste on residential properties in the County.

Solid Waste Service Fee Ordinance
A Solid Waste Service Fee Ordinance has been put in place in order to protect the health, safety and welfare of Sherburne County citizens and protect the County's Integrated Solid Waste Management Program. This ordinance establishes solid waste management service charges to support Sherburne County's Waste to Energy program with delivery of the County’s municipal solid waste to both the Elk River Resource Recovery Facility, and the Pope/Douglas Incinerator.
The ordinance includes: the establishment of solid waste management service charges for the County of Sherburne, procedures for setting and modifying the amounts of the solid waste management service charges, payment and collection methods, and establishment of an appeals process.
