The Park Advisory Commission was first established in 1998. The mission of the Park Advisory Commission is to plan for the acquisition, preservation, restoration, and, when appropriate, the enhancement of the natural resources of Sherburne County. These resources shall be used for the recreation, education, and enjoyment of present and future generations of Sherburne County citizens.
A 7-member volunteer citizen committee appointed by the County Board of Commissioners, the membership includes a representative from each of the five Commissioner Districts, an at-large member and a County Commissioner. Exofficio members include staff from the Planning & Zoning Office.
Regular meetings of the Sherburne County Park Advisory Commission are held on the 1st Thursday, as needed. The meetings begin at 6:00 PM and are held at the Sherburne County Government Center, unless otherwise scheduled.
Committees and/or Task Forces of the Park Advisory Commission are sometimes created to help focus on particular issues.
