Financial Services - Health Care Assistance

Health Care programs may pay for all or part of your medical bills. They can help when you cannot pay for health care you and your family need.

Medical Assistance (MA) is a federal program that may pay medical bills for people who cannot pay for them. MA is for people who are:

  • Under age 21 or over age 65
  • Pregnant
  • Blind
  • Disabled
  • Some parents or caretakers of a child under age 19

MinnesotaCare is a state and federal program that helps people who do not have other insurance. Minnesota Care is for single people and families who do not have other health insurance and do not get MA or GAMC (General Assistance Medical Care)

How to Apply

You need to fill out an application to apply for any of the Minnesota Health Care Programs including:

Applications can be picked up from our office or downloaded from the Minnesota Health Care Programs website. You can ask for help in filling out the application by mail, phone or in person. After filling out the application, mail or bring it in person to our office.
