Absentee Ballots

Diane Arnold, Sherburne County Auditor-Treasurer, announces that absentee balloting for the November 6th General Election will begin on Friday, September 21st.

Sherburne County residents can cast their absentee ballot in person at the Auditor-Treasurer’s Office, located in the Sherburne County Government Center, 13880 Business Center Drive NW, Elk River, MN 55330-1692. Hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. The office will be open for absentee balloting on Saturday, November 3rd, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm and until 5:00 pm on Monday, November 5th. Monday November 5th is the last day to cast an absentee ballot in person.

Absentee balloting may also be done by mail. Obtain an absentee ballot application PDF, or contact the Auditor-Treasurer’s office for an application to be mailed or faxed. Absentee ballot applications can be returned by mail to the Auditor-Treasurer’s office at the above address, or fax it to 763-765-4400.

In order to vote by absentee ballot, one of the following MUST be met:

  1. Absence from precinct on election-day
  2. Illness or disability
  3. Religious discipline or observance of religious holiday
  4. Service as an election judge in another precinct
  5. Eligible emergency declared by the governor or quarantine declared by federal or state government.
